High Five for Friday!

It was a week.  Just a week.  Nothing monumental.  Plants are blooming.  The kids played.  It was all good.
Let’s link up with Lauren get ready for the weekend!

5.  First tomato blossoms.  This is from a plant called Mom’s Big Fat Cherry Tomatoes.  I shit you not.
4.  First pumpkin in the making.  Three years ago I planted Baby Boo pumpkins.  They have been volunteering out of the compost ever since.  I get hundreds of pumpkins every year.
 3.  Max earned his keep hunting the godforsaken bunnies that eat everything in my garden.  How do I make them go away???
2.  Miss Thang showing you that even girly girls dig for gold.
1.  I don’t have the words.

What a great week.  I feel good about myself, my life, my family.  Yay for this week.  Linking up with Lauren has become such a fun way to end the week.  Here we go!

5. I went to the zoo with Meister’s class.  When I arrived there must have been 30 buses in the parking lot and 8 gagillion kids running around.  It was chaos.  Once we got inside and paired up with the kids, it was much much better.

4.  I ate this cake.  It was amazeballs.  It was a poppy seed cake with lemon curd filling.  My tongue did the happy dance when I tasted it.

3.  I went to The Spring Terrier games at a local recreation area.  It was an event that highlighted local rescues here in Nebraksa.  Meister loved the Mastiff named Broccoli.  The Hubs really wants a Mastiff.  I told him we can get one when Max dies.  Max is 6.  Hopefully we have a long long time until we get a 150 pound dog.

2.  The Hub’s best friend since first grade came over with his family.  The boys thought it would be fun to try out the new tag-a-long bike we got for Miss Thang.  They reverted back to their first grade selves in an instant.

1.  I was let go from my PRN position at the hospital because they are fully staffed.  I am actually happy about it.  I loved working in the ER.  Loved the people.  I didn’t love the fact it was in addition to my regular 40 hour work week.  Woot woot to only having one job.  Now if only I could win the lottery and have NO job.  That would be awesomesauce.

Have a great weekend.
I’m gonna plant some more plants, mow the yard, and do laundry.  I’m CRAZY like that!

Woot Woot!  What a week.  I got so much done and feel very accomplished.  Not to mention Miss Thang was here after two weeks of being at her moms!  This weekend is garden time.  I’m planting out the rest of the seedlings.  I can’t wait to show you the final results.  I’m linking up with Lauren so let’s get down to business, this week was awesome because…

5.  I finished Shades of Grey.  I will be polite and say that I liked the basic story of Ana and Christian.  The kinky kinky was fine at first, but then it was boring and I ended up skimming 90% of the books.  This pretty much sums up my feelings about Shades of Grey.

 4.  I got my nails shellacked.  It costs the same as a regular manicure.  It’s supposed to last two weeks.  We will see.  I like to keep my money in my pockets.  I can’t see myself doing this every two weeks, but if it is as good as they say it is then it might just happen.

3.  Meister and I went to PetCo on Sunday and he was entertained by the mice for a good 30 minutes.  It was super cute how much he was giggling.

2.  I painted the front door.  I like it.  I love it.  I want some more of it.  Name that tune.

1.  Miss Thang was here for a couple of days.  Visitation is different in the summer due to The Hub’s job.  It’s unique to say the least.  I think she had fun.  Maybe a little too much fun.

It was all just too much, she had to pass out.

High Five for Friday

Once again, I’m linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk.  I am loving Friday this week.  Work has been boooooring so I’m ready to have a break from the monotony.  Woo Hoo weekend!

5.  My irises are blooming.  Spring is here no matter what the weather has been.

4. He is truly the light of my life.  I love him so.  Even when he does things like stay up late reading.
3. My other tiny orchid is blooming!  Pretty!
2.  We saw the coolest Lego sculptures when we were in Ames over the weekend.  That dragonfly is entirely made of Legos.
1. We went to the barn and saw Love Tapper, my favoritest race horse in my father in law’s stable.  Meister was smitten too.  ❤

High Five for Friday!

Wooo hooo Friday! I’m linking up again with Lauren at From My Grey Desk.   I am so looking forward to the weekend.  We are going to Des Moines to be with the Hubs at his place of employment.  He works for the horse racing industry and through him, I get my horsey fix.
I used to manage a public riding stable in Estes Park.  It was my dream job.  It was a sad day when I gave it up.  I still miss it.  sniffle. So anyways, can’t wait for the weekend so I can love on some horses and enjoy the races.  Here is my top five for the week.

5.  The Meister lost another tooth!
4.  I found Hoarders on Netflix.  I’m on season two already.  It may or may not be an obsession.
3.  I read this book.  Really good, really informative.

2.  I started this book.  Yes, I know what it’s about and yes I know it’s got the kinky kinky in it.
1.  I’m making a butterscotch brownie cake for the Hubs’ birthday.  I found it on Bakerella The Hubs is going to be 32.  Woo hoo.  I’m the older woman, so anytime he’s a little bit older I celebrate.

High Five for Friday!

Holy Moly am I glad it’s Friday.  Let’s share the love with Lauren and say High Five for Friday!

5.  Easter went well.  Meister was at his dad’s house so it was just Miss Thang, The Hubs and I.  It was odd to only have one kid, but it was nice too.  She got our undivided attention for four whole days.

Chocolate at 7 am is normal, right?
 4. The Meister drew me a picture of the Decorah Eagles for my desk.  I just love it.
See the eagles back there?  Behind my phone?
3.How presh is this?  I mean, really.  How many babies do you need to hold while sleeping?
Apparently the answer is 5.  You need 5 babies to sleep.
2. An art project from school made my nerd heart sing again!  It’s the Rabbit of Caerbannog!
It has sharp pointy teeth!
1.  This book has been very engaging.  I have found many applications for my own garden that I can’t wait to try out.  If only it would stop raining!  You can buy it here.

This week flew by way too fast.  I had the first half of the week all to my lonesome because The Meister is at his dad’s for spring break, The Hubs was working in Iowa, and Miss Thang was at her mom’s.
It was ok.
 It was AWESOMESAUCE!

So High Five for Friday!  Thanks Lauren for hosting such a great link up.

 5.  I cleaned and organized Meister’s room.  Behold the Lego bin.

I was tempted to let my OCD take over and sort by color…

4.  I gardened like a mad woman.  I built these cool potato bins.
I have German Butterball in the back tower and La Ratte in the front.
3. Hooray for volunteers!  These are all mini pumpkins.  Oy!
That is some crappy topsoil.
2. We went to an egg hunt.  It was 91 degrees for our hunt.  That is just wrong
see the rosy cheeks?  it was too hot people!
1.  Apparently Miss Thang likes chicken teriyaki.
arrrrgh chicken!

High Five for Friday!

I’m linking up with Lauren for High Five for Friday!  It was an awesome week and I can’t wait to share it with you.

5.  The Hubs and I went to the orchid show at the botanical gardens.  I bought this little beauty!

I can’t remember the name.  Something something Kitty.
4. I potted up all of my tomato starts.  They are now living on the kitchen window.  I plan to tempt fate and put them out in two weeks.  It will be a month early, but if they die I still have time to start new.
4 of 9.  Yes I’m one of those crazy gardeners.
3.  The Meister was a trooper this week.  He fell off his bike and busted his arm.  He rode the 2.5 miles back to the truck.  After we went to my work to have a doc look at it we found out it needed a stitch.  I felt like a bad mom for making him ride back to the truck, but we really didn’t have a choice.
This is his tough face.
2.We dogsat over the weekend for my brother and sister in law.  Rowdy and Meister became quick buds.
1. I made seed mats for my garden.  I used this tutorial from Granny.  She rocks my garden world!
That’s it for me this week.  How was yours?

High Five For Friday!

It’s Friday again and I’m linking up with Lauren.  Her blog is pretty stinking cute and I love how she does the High Fives.  So here’s my list for the week.

Max enjoyed the snugglage.
3.Diet Coke.  I love you.  We are breaking up, but you don’t know it yet.

Truthfully, I am more happy looking at him.

High Five for Friday

Top 5 for the week!

It was a long week and I came through some darkness.  I feel especially grateful for my family this week. I thought I’d join up with Lauren

I can’t figure out how to add the button, I’m new to this.  Bear with me!

5.  My parents.  That’s newborn Meister!  It’s an oldie, but the nicest picture I had of them.

4.  This dog.  He’s surveying his kingdom from the patio table.

3.  This girl.  I mean, what three year old sits like that?  Precious!
2.  This boy.   He was “getting” me.
